Using Spotify for Baseball and Softball Walk-Ups
Connect Spotify to FieldFire Spark, assign player songs and start points, and route the reviewed receiver through game-day audio.
FieldFire Spark can control an authorized Spotify Premium account through its supported local Spotify Connect receiver. Spark handles the game-day workflow; the team supplies the account, internet, speaker path, and music permissions.
Connect the account in FieldFire
Start Spotify authorization from Device > Connections. The callback returns to the device through the reviewed field-fire.live path, and refresh credentials remain encrypted on Spark. Do not share tokens or personal Spotify passwords with game-day volunteers.
After authorization, confirm that Spark’s local receiver appears as the supported playback device and that it reaches the configured analog or Bluetooth audio output.
Assign each player
- Open the player in My Teams.
- Search Spotify for the intended clean track version.
- Select the track.
- Choose the saved start point.
- Select the supported 8, 12, or 15 second playback window.
- Preview the complete number announcement and song crop.
- Save the player.
The playback window describes how long the walk-up runs, not the full track length. Spark starts its cue clock after the local receiver is actually playing and applies the reviewed fade at the end.
Run the game
Walk-Up Game Mode lets the operator trigger each batter from the lineup. Spark plays the number announcement first, then starts the assigned Spotify crop. Manual hype controls remain ready below the lineup.
Automatic Spotify moment clips are separate from explicit player assignments. When enabled, they may rotate only reviewed automatic-safe clip windows matched to the resolved game moment.
Prepare a fallback
Spotify and GameChanger require internet. Keep approved local audio for critical walk-ups, and test the exact field connection before warmups. A missing or delayed Spotify stream should fall back cleanly rather than consuming the walk-up window or leaving orphan playback.
