FieldFire Privacy Policy
How the FieldFire hardware companion app handles device discovery, setup, credentials, direct appliance control, and deletion requests.
App and developer
This privacy policy applies to the Android app listed on Google Play as FieldFire, package live.fieldfire.control, and its iOS counterpart. FieldFire provides and supports the app. Privacy questions can be sent to support@field-fire.live.
No FieldFire cloud account
The app does not create a FieldFire cloud account. It has no advertising, analytics, subscription, or crash-reporting SDK. FieldFire does not sell personal information or use app activity for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Account and data deletion
Users can delete saved app data and revoke appliance access without signing in to a FieldFire website. Follow the complete instructions on the public Delete FieldFire app data page. Removing a saved FieldFire deletes its details and controller credential from the phone. A FieldFire administrator can delete the appliance-managed FieldFire app identity to revoke paired-phone credentials. Uninstalling FieldFire removes remaining app-local data, subject to the phone operating system's backup and deletion behavior.
Data the app accesses and why
The app accesses nearby-device and local-network information to discover FieldFire hardware, connect it to Wi-Fi, and open its operator interface. Discovery information can include the FieldFire ID and name, local address, availability, and Bluetooth signal strength. The operator interface can process team and player names, user IDs, logos, audio, selected files, game actions, and device identifiers when an operator chooses those features. This data is used only for app functionality, account management on the selected appliance, and device security.
Credentials and Wi-Fi setup
A FieldFire administrator username and password may be entered once to authorize app access on nearby hardware. A Wi-Fi network name and password may be entered to connect that hardware to Wi-Fi. These values are transmitted directly to the selected FieldFire over the encrypted Bluetooth setup session, cleared from app state after the attempt, and not retained by the app.
Information stored on the phone
The app stores a list of paired FieldFire IDs, device names, secure tunnel addresses, optional local-network fallback addresses, and last-connected times. It separately stores a random device-issued controller credential in the phone operating system's secure storage. That credential contains no human username or password and is used only to obtain a session from the paired FieldFire.
Direct appliance control
The app loads the selected appliance's operator interface directly from its unique field-fire.live HTTPS tunnel. Data entered there is sent to and retained by the selected appliance. When explicitly selected as a fallback, the app can load the same interface over plain HTTP from a private local-network address; use that fallback only on a network you trust. The appliance, not a FieldFire cloud control plane, owns game, team, provider, audio, and hardware state.
Service providers and sharing
Cloudflare provides the secure per-device tunnel, network protection, and delivery used to reach a FieldFire over the internet. Cloudflare can process ordinary connection information such as IP address, request metadata, and security telemetry for those functions. Expo provides app update checks and delivery and can process app platform, runtime and channel headers, IP address, and ordinary request metadata. These providers process data to deliver FieldFire's services. FieldFire does not share app data with unrelated third parties or send the device-issued controller credential to an unrelated service.
Permissions
Bluetooth or nearby-device access is used for FieldFire discovery and Wi-Fi setup. On Android 11 and earlier, Android can classify Bluetooth scanning under its location permission; FieldFire uses that permission only to find nearby FieldFire hardware and does not derive, retain, or transmit the phone's location. Local-network access is used to discover and directly reach owned FieldFire hardware. Internet access is used to reach the selected appliance through its secure tunnel and to open FieldFire support or policy links. The app does not request contacts, camera, microphone, advertising ID, or broad file-storage access.
Security, retention, and deletion
Normal remote access uses HTTPS, setup credentials use an encrypted Bluetooth session, and the controller credential is stored in operating-system secure storage. Saved device details and controller credentials remain on the phone until the user removes the FieldFire, clears the app's data, or uninstalls the app. Appliance data remains on the selected FieldFire until an administrator removes it there. FieldFire service providers may retain limited security and operational logs under their normal service settings.
Children
The app is intended for adult coaches, team volunteers, venue operators, and hardware administrators. An adult operator can enter team and player details into the selected appliance's operator interface. Enter only the information needed for the team's game-day workflow and follow league and organization requirements.
Your choices
Bluetooth and local-network permissions can be changed in phone settings. Device access can be removed in the app or revoked on the FieldFire appliance. Contact support@field-fire.live for privacy questions or requests applicable in your location.
